Announcing BrickUtilities

I’ve been writing a bunch of code recently for one of Galden Studio’s sibling businesses: Knockout Nerd. Software can help streamline business processes and/or help businesses gain an advantage — and Knockout Nerd is no exception. We’ve started selling custom LEGO® brick decorations through Knockout Nerd. I wrote some software that helps us decide which bricks to order, gets us the cheapest prices on bricks, and other similar things. While some of this software needs to remain proprietary, I’d like to share as much as I can. So…

I’m happy to announce BrickUtilities: an open source .NET library for applications that manipulate brick data. The source code is available on GitHub, and the compiled library is available via NuGet. See the documentation for more details. It is free for anyone to use. Right now, there is limited functionality: reading/writing BrickLink-style XML want lists. But I’m planning to add much more functionality in the future. Let me know what you’d like to see included!
